The Gresham House Studio Apartment offers the perfect retreat for musicians, artists, writers and other creative people who are looking for a peaceful location to work on their creative projects or take some time out for creative recovery. The apartment is best suited for single occupancy, but it can sleep two people comfortably.

The accommodation consists of a spacious combined bedroom/workroom (4×4 metres), a bathroom with shower and a small kitchen with fridge and simple cooking facilities (2 ring electric cooker and separate microwave). The accomodation is light, provides a lovely environment for working, reading or just mulling things over, and has a good wifi connection. The studio apartment is adjacent to the Gresham House Art Studio-Gallery and the vegetable garden. Double doors give access to a private terrace – ‘the Italian courtyard’, an afternoon sun-trap on sunny days – and a stone seat to catch the morning sun. There is secure car parking space on site.

If you would like to, you can book additional tuition, for example in singing, songwriting, lino printing, drawing or creative writing with either of us, singer/composer Helen Porter or artist/writer Peter Ursem. Please let us know in advance. Tuition rates are £45 per hour, but can be negotiated if you would like to book regular sessions during your stay.

Gresham House Studios is an inspirational place with great views. We  trust that some of the spirit of this place will rub off on our creative guests. The Tamar Valley is a beautiful area to visit, with great opportunities for walking, cycling and exploring, either directly from Gresham House Studios or incorporating a small drive (for example to Tavistock, Dartmoor or the sea). There are railway stations at walking distance in Gunnislake and Calstock where you can pick up the Tamar Valley line to Plymouth.

Cost: Single £70 per night (£80 for double occupancy). This includes fresh breakfast supplies, including home made yoghurt, granola, bread and marmalade. Minimum booking: 3 nights. We regret that the apartment is not suitable for pets.
